Emerging Fringe Competition
Unprecedented Opportunity for Emerging Performing Artists
as part of the Fifth San Diego International Fringe Festival

I love seeing students participating and contributing to the performing arts and I’m excited to see what they have created this year. Student crafted performances never fail to fascinate me.
–Andrea Lemaitre

The San Diego International Fringe Festival 2017 (#sdiff17) is pleased to announce that this year’s Emerging Fringe Competition will be lead by teacher and dancer, Andrea Lemaitre. Submissions can be original works of drama, comedy, improv, spoken word, music, dance, magic, and/or puppetry. All accepted applicants will perform at the semi-finals on June 25, 2017, and selected performers will go on to the finals on July 2, 2017.
Prizes for Emerging Fringe Winners include:

  • First Place: $500 Scholarship, a trophy, and a waiver for production fees for FIVE performances in the 2018 San Diego International Festival
  • Second place: $300 Scholarship and a trophy
