DrumatiX is an award-winning creative percussion and tap dance company led by Founder, Artistic Director, and Choreographer Noa Barankin. With active troupes in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Boston, DrumatiX creates high-energy, nonverbal performances that fuse virtuosic tap dance, body percussion, and drumming on found objects—buckets, barrels, boxes, household items, invented instruments, and technology.
Known for athletic precision, musical sophistication, and playful theatricality, DrumatiX transforms rhythm into a shared, immersive experience for audiences of all ages. Their work moves between tightly choreographed ensemble sections, improvisation, and audience engagement, emphasizing rhythm as a universal language that transcends words and cultural barriers.
DrumatiX has presented work at theaters, festivals, and community venues across multiple U.S. states, including Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, La Jolla Playhouse, Providence Performing Arts Center, The Old Globe, San Diego International Airport, Clayton Opera House, and Pasadena Playhouse. The company has earned honors such as Audience Choice (San Diego Fringe 2024), Pick of the Fringe and the Encore Producers Award (Hollywood Fringe 2023), and three consecutive years voted Best Live Theatre and Family Performances by Boston Parents Paper.
In addition to performance, DrumatiX is deeply engaged in arts education, leading residencies, workshops, and outreach programs nationwide, and partnering with leading organizations including The Music Center (Los Angeles) and Segerstrom Center for the Arts (Orange County).
